How venue links work. And how we are paid.
Degen is a research desk. It does not place orders, route trades or hold anyone's keys or funds. A “Trade on …” button is a plain link to a venue you choose; you trade there, in your own account or wallet.
Referral commission
Some venues run referral or affiliate programs. When Degen joins one, links to that venue may carry our referral code, and the venue may pay Degen a share of the fees it earns from people who sign up or trade through the link. It costs you nothing extra. Buttons that carry a code show a small ref chip.
Never changes rankings
Commission never affects scores, rankings, alerts or the order of venue buttons. Venues are ordered by where the asset actually trades: the venue holding the deepest liquidity pool first, then other DEXes and aggregators on that chain, then exchanges whose listing matches the token's contract, by 24-hour volume. A test in the code checks that adding, changing or removing a referral code leaves the order unchanged.
No ticker look-alikes
An exchange button appears only when the exchange's listing is matched to the token's contract address. A matching ticker alone is never enough: meme tokens often share names with unrelated listed coins.
Your region
Venues that do not serve your country (from your connection's country code) are greyed out or blocked with a notice. Tokenised stocks are not offered to US persons. No venue link is offered in CU, IR, KP, SY. Check a venue is available where you live before you use it.
What a click records
Links go through /go/ on this site, which builds the venue address from a fixed list (it never forwards to an address taken from the link) and counts the click: venue, asset, where on the desk it was clicked, your country code, desktop or mobile, and a one-way hash of your IP address with a salt that changes daily (the IP itself is never stored). A random first-party cookie counts repeat clicks; it is not set when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. The first time you open a venue (and every time for regulated products) you see a notice before you leave Degen.

Earnings, if any, come from each venue's own dashboard. “Not enabled” venues are not shown on the desk yet. Interface fees on swaps (where an app builds the swap you sign) are not used: Degen does not build or route swaps.
